GATEWAYS COMMUNITY SERVICES UNVEILS NEW NAME
Name Better Reflects The Company Today
Nashua, NH – May 12, 2008 – Gateways Community Services, formerly Area Agency of Greater Nashua, Inc., today unveiled a new corporate name that distinguishes the company as a leader in providing innovative services to those with disabilities and elders in need of support. With a contemporary logo and new name, the brand illustrates both the “new” Gateways Community Services, as well as the organization’s legacy of commitment to serving infants with developmental delays, as well as children and adults with disabilities.
“In many respects, our new name, Gateways Community Services, is just now catching up with the many changes we’ve made over the past few years,” said Sandra Pelletier, President and CEO. “Gateways Community Services is a better reflection of who we are today: a non-profit organization with a team of professionals working with the greater Nashua community to meet the evolving needs of more than 1,800 children and adults with disabilities, and elders in need of support.”
In February, the $24 million non profit corporation approved a three-phase process aimed at better describing the company today. The branding initiative signals a transition to a period of expanding the company’s business.
“For the past 26 years, since the closing of the Laconia State School, we’ve worked with the state to provide services to those with developmental disabilities,” explains Pelletier. “Now, we are expanding our services to include elders in need of support and are developing innovative programs to meet the emerging needs of those diagnosed with autism. We will continue to work with the state to provide traditional services, but will also provide direct fee services and pilot programs through private funded means as well.”
Gateways Community Services is providing additional supports to better keep pace with the emerging needs of our changing New Hampshire population. The remainder of 2008 and 2009 promise to be a year of innovation for Gateways Community Services as it rolls out a series of new services for individuals with autism, elders in need of support, and Consumer Directed Services.
“Our focus going forward is to maintain our established relationship with the state to provide traditional support services, but at the same time create innovative services that meet the emerging, changing needs of our community.” said Pelletier. “Area Agency of Greater Nashua provided programs in cooperation with the state, but Gateways Community Services does much more. Gateways is a committed to delivering innovative supports through state funded efforts, direct pay, and private contributions.”
