The goal of the Family Support Advisory Council is to enhance, expand and support the role that families play in making decisions about the design and implementation of services and supports in New Hampshire.
The Family Support Council are volunteers organized in accordance with He-M 519 to provide advice and oversight regarding the support needs of families who have members with developmental disabilities living with them. It states, in part:
The primary purpose of the Regional Family Support Council is to provide a forum for families to make their concerns, needs, and preferences known to the policy makers, service providers, and the community. It is composed of volunteer family members who are recognized as parent leaders, are empowered by state law, and who are able and willing to speak for other families.
