Early Supports & Services :: Established Condition
A child with a diagnosed physical or mental condition which has a high probability of resulting in developmental delay, even when no delay exists at the time of referral. Examples:
- Chromosomal/genetic disorder (i.e., Down Syndrome, cystic fibrosis)
- Metabolic disorder (i.e., maternal PKU, hypothyroidism)
- Congenital malformation (i.e., cleft palate, spinal bifida, microcephaly)
- Severe infectious disease (i.e., congenital or acquired rubella, HIV+, meningitis)
- Neurological disorder (i.e., CP, seizures, Tay Sachs)
- Severe attachment disorder (i.e., Failure To Thrive, PDD/Autism)
- Sensory impairment (i.e., vision loss or severe hearing loss)
- Diagnosis reflective of severe toxic exposure (i.e., fetal alcohol syndrome, lead poisoning)
