- Autism is the most common developmental disability.
- 1 in 150 children born today will be diagnosed with Autism.
- Autism is a lifelong developmental disability that typically appears in the first three years of life.
- Autism is a neurological disorder which interferes with the normal development of the brain in areas that control verbal and nonverbal communication, social interaction, and sensory development.
The Autism Resource Center is a new and unique service from Gateways Community Services designed to directly support children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families, through access to a community-based Autism Information Specialist, a local resource library, and case management services.
The Autism Information Specialist is a valuable resource to individuals with Autism, their families, professionals, and service providers. The specialist provides information and resources to schools, medical professionals, the work place, and the general community to foster empathy and understanding for individuals with ASD. The specialist is available to give presentations to various agencies and the community on topics related to Autism.
Our comprehensive Resource Library, located at 144 Canal Street in Nashua, is open to the public. The library contains books, brochures, videos, and computer software to help individuals with Autism, their families, professionals, and service providers, learn more about Autism and related topics.

- Provides support and case management for individuals and families impacted by Autism
- Acts as a resource for the local community, including schools and medical professionals, on issues relating to ASD
- Accepts referrals for families who might benefit from program resources
